A WELL AND NATURE RESERVE – 7 Miles
Meet and park at Brookfield Road, Shevington Moor, Standish. Small free car park and street parking on Old Pepper Road. GR. SD 547107.
Walk – Thompson House, Patrick Farm, Blainscough Hall, Langtree Hall return.
11th January
BEAMERS TRAIL – 6 Miles
Meet and park at Pleasington playing fields. Turn down Tower Road, following signs for Crematorium, off Preston Old Rd, Blackburn, BB2 5LE. GR.SD. 655267.
Walk – Witton Park, Yellow Hills, Hoghton Bottoms, Pleasington and return.
18th January
A SHORTER, LOCAL WINTER WALK FOR ALL! – 4 Miles (2-3 hours)
Park and meet at Walker Fold carpark on Colliers Row Road (a continuation of Scout Road), BL1 7PT. GR SD 675123.
Walk – Burnt Edge, Holden’s Plantation, Smithills Moor, Sugar loaf, and return.
We would like to encourage more families to walk with us, and also those who may be new to walking and prefer to start with shorter walks. If you know anyone who might like to come, please encourage them. They will receive a warm welcome and a chance to exercise, explore and enjoy the local countryside. Please ensure all wear sturdy footwear. If successful a shorter walk could be repeated monthly. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
