Walk – Smithills Hall, Horrocks Fold, Longworth Clough, Winter Hill, Rivington Pike, Two Lads, Walker Fold, Barrow Bridge.
(2) Green Withens Reservoir via Blackstone Edge – 7.5 miles
Cars to The White House on the A58 Rochdale to Halifax Road. OL15 0LG, GR SD 696 178.
Walk – Aiggin Stone, Blackstone Edge, Redmires, bridge over M62, Green Withens reservoir, Green Withens edge, Rishworth Drain and return.
(3) Through Ancient Hunting Grounds – 7 miles
Meet & park Ribchester Arms (permission given) Blackburn Road, Ribchester, PR3 3ZQ.
Walk – Stydd, Moorcock, Huntingdon Hall, Green core, Hurst Green, Shireburn house and return.
(4) Hawkshaw and Holcombe – 5.5 miles
Meet and park on road at junction of Bolton Rd and Hawkshaw lane, outside the Waggon & Horses. BL8 4JL.
Walk – Higher House Farm, Holcombe Hey and return.
14th August
(1) Over Turton Moor to Entwistle Reservoir – 10.5 miles
Meeting place Crookfield car park just off the A675 between Belmont and Abbey Village. SD 665 191
Walk – Catherine’s edge, Turton moor, Entwistle Reservoir, Cadshaw Farm, Catherine’s edge.
(2) Marsden – 8 miles
Cars to: Standedge Car Park (free) Marsden train station, Station Rd, Marsden, HD7 6AX. GR SE 046 118.
Walk – Huddersfield Narrow canal, Marsden Moor along the Packhorse Trail, Millstone Edge, Standedge trail and return
(3) Highs and Lows – 7 miles
Meet & park Riding Gate, Harwood PC BL2 4DP GR 744 127
Walk – Top of the Knotts, Affetside, Tottington, Bentley Hall road, Old Holts farm.
(4) Cutacre and coal – 5 miles
Meet at Cutacre Carpark off A6. BL5 1BT.
Walk – A gentle walk round the area, with a visit to Pretoria Memorial.

(1) Walk From Dent – 10 miles
Meeting Point Dent Car Park (About £5) SD 704 871, LA10 5QJ.
Walk – Green Lane, Track Skirting Combe Hill, Great Combe, High Pike, Deepdale, Bridge End, Dales Way, Back Dent.
(2) Turton and Entwistle Circular – 8.3 miles
Cars to: Ousel Nest car park off the B3691 Chapeltown Road. Nearest Postcode BL7 9AJ. GR SD 739 141.
Walk – Top of Turton, New Butterworth's Farm, Longworth Clough, Dimple, Witton Weavers Way, Jumbles and return.
(3) Downham – 7 miles
Meet & park Downham village car park. Postcode BB7 4BN.
Walk via Swanside Beck (mini bridge), Greenside, Sawley Abbey, Bank Top, River Ribble and return via Chatburn.
(4) Water, Water Everywhere – 5 miles
Meet at the top car park on the left as you drive thru the gates at Moses Gate Country Park.
Walk – The lakes, Cemetery, river, return via the canal.
28th August
(1) Pendle Hill from Barley – 10 miles
Meeting place Park at pay and display car park, Barley, BB12 9LB. SD 8219 4049.
Walk – Lower Ogden reservoir, Pendle Hill, Hookcliffe, Brownlow Farm, Lower Black Moss Reservoir.
(2) Weets Hill – 9 miles
Cars to Foulridge Wharf car park. Park at far end away from Cafe Cargo, BB8 7PP. GR SD 888 426. Turn left off A56 at Foulridge just north of Colne junction 14 at end of M65.
Walk – Leeds Liverpool canal, Weets Hill, Pendle Way, Foulridge Lower reservoir and return.
(3) Bob Smithy and Beyond – 7 miles
Meet & park on Old Kiln Lane opposite Bobs Smithy, BL1 7PX.
Walk – Burnt Edge, Walsuches, High Ridd and return.
(4) Around Abbey Village – 4.5 miles
Park as you enter Abbey Village on the left of the road.
Walk – A pleasant walk round a pretty village.
