Cars to the layby opposite the Miller and Carter Pub at the top of Parbold Hill. WN8 7TG, GR SD 5083 1071.
Walk – Leeds Liverpool Canal, River Douglas, Grange Farm, Newburgh, Parbold and return.
(3) Family Favourites – 7 miles
Meet & park Moss Bank Park. Main gate car park, BL1 6NB.
Walk – Barrow Bridge, Burnt Edge, Holdens farm, Coal Pit rd. Horrocks wood.
(4) Not One, But Two Gardens! – 5 miles
Park at Jumbles Country Park Information Centre car park, Bradshaw Road, BL2 4JS.
Walk – Horrobin Fold, Turton Tower kitchen garden, Chapeltown, Turton Bottoms, Black Rock Community Orchard and return via Bradshaw Brook.
(5) Yarrow walk – 3 miles
Park on Horrobin Lane, near the Bowling Green. GR SD 624 143
Walk – West side of Yarrow reservoir, The Street, followed by lunch in the Bowling Green café.
