(1) Garstang, East Of – 12 miles
Use the car park just off High St by River Wyre, PR13 1EB. SD 4932 4542. Car park is £3.50 per day.
Walk – North along R Wyre then Broom Hill, Parkhead farm, Calder Vale, Bleasdale Tower, Broadgate, Butt Hill, Sullom End, canal to Greenhalgh Castle Farm and back to start.
(2) Historic Horwich And Rivington – 8 miles
Cars to St John Street car park behind Horwich Post Office on Winter Hey Lane, BL6 7NX. GR SD 638 115.
Walk – Wallsuches, Montcliffe, Rivington Pike, Terraced Gardens and return.
(3) Anglezarke Circular – 8 miles
Meet at Rivington Primary School, BL6 7SE.
Walk – Anglezarke, White Coppice, Heapey, The Street and back
(4) Cuerden Valley Park – 6 miles
Meet at Cuerden Valley Park, Factory Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, off the A6. GR SD 576 217. Nearby postcode PR6 7EA. Look for St John the Baptist Church.

(1) Witton Park and Hoghton Bottoms – 11.5 miles
Car park SD 656 268 (BB2 5GX). Go to CP at end of Tower Rd which leaves A674 about 0.5 Km SW of main car park at Witton Park.
Walk – Billinge Nook, Arley Farm, Nab’s Head, Salmesbury Bottoms, Hoghton Bottoms, Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Chery Tree Station, CP.
(2) Tockholes – 8 miles
Cars to Tockholes information centre, BB3 0PA. GR SD 665 215.
Walk – Roddlesworth Reservoir, Sunnyhurst Wood, Jubilee Tower Terrace, Hollingshead Hall and return.
(3) Horrocks Fold to Stones Bank – 6/7 miles
Park at Wilton Pub, Belmont Road, BL1 7BT. GR SR 699135.
Walk – Dunscar, Delph, Stones Bank, Longworth Clough.
(4) Reddisher Woods – 5/6 miles
Meet on Lumb Carr Road near the Hare and Hounds. BL0 9RY.
Walk – Summerseat, Greenmount, Reddisher.

(1) Irwell Valley – 10 miles
Car park Moses Gate Country Park, Hall Lane, BL3 2PX. SD 740 069.
Walk – Nob End, Meccano Bridge, Prestolee, Ringley, Clifton Junction, Irwell Sculpture Trail, Clammerclough.
(2) Glazebury Round – 9 miles
Cars to Bents Garden Centre, Warrington Road, Glazebury, WA3 5NT. Grid Ref SD 672 978. Park at the back of the car park toward ‘click and collect’.
Walk – Bents, Bedford Hall, Pennington Flash, Culcheth Carrs, Hitchfield Wood, Light Oaks Hall, Windy Bank Wood, Bents, Flat walk, few stiles.
(3) Fields, Farms and Stables – 7 miles
Meet at Mill Lane car park (turn left at Gerrard Arms), Bolton Road, WN2 1PZ.
Walk – Borsdane Wood then up to Fields, Farms and Woods and Stables in the area and return.
(4) A Doffcoker Round – 5/6 miles
Meet at Doffcocker Lodge/Triangle Church car park, BL1 5SL.
A walk in the area depending on conditions.
23rd February
(1) Mellor Brook – 10 miles
SD 644 314 (BB2 7HY). Park at end of Whalley Road, which is a cul-de-sac. From roundabout near Mellor Brook on A59, turn south for a VERY short distance then left to end of Whalley Road.
Walk – Balderstone, Moor Edge, Butler’s Delf.
(2) Great Hameldon From Clowbridge Reservoir – 9 miles
Cars to Limey Lane off the A682 Burnley to Rossendale Road. On the right just passed the reservoir in the direction of Burnley, near the sign for Habergham Eaves. Nearest post code BB11 5NT. GR SD 83018 28820.
Walk – Burnley way, Clow Bridge, Hameldon Hill, Great Hameldon and return via Hameldon Scouts.
(3) Wilton Estate Walk – 7 miles
Meet at St. Margaret’s Road entrance to Heaton Park (charge £3), M25 2GT. GR SD 824047.
Walk -Rhodes Wood, Alkrington Hall, Blackley Forest, Hidden Gem Café and gardens.
(4) Borsdane Wood – 5/6 miles
Meet at Aspull Civic Centre, WN2 1PJ. GR SD 611 078. Turn left 300 yards after finger post on Wigan Lane B5238 going towards Wigan.
Walk – Borsdane Wood, Hindley Hall, Top Lock and return.
