Saturday Walks – January 2025

Walks unless stated otherwise start at 12.30

5th January

A Walk for all ages! – 1.3 miles and more
Meet at the Museum of Science and Industry, Liverpool Rd, M34FP any time between 12 and 1pm. Museum, cafe and toilets open from 10am. Groups of 2-4 will set off at 10 min intervals to solve 18 clues to a code.
Walk – Canals and Quiet streets!
Suitable footwear as can be slippy if wet. Stop for refreshments anywhere along the route. Walk through the city, see the lights. Meet if you want afterwards for something to eat and drink in the Northern Quarter (details at the end of the walk) Winner/s to be announced.


11th January

Chapeltown Festive Season in the Woods – 7.5 miles
Meet and park near the Cheetham Arms, High Street, Chapeltown, BL7 0EW.
Walk – The shoreline of Entwistle Reservoir, taking in sections of the Witton Weavers Way, moorland, Strawbury Duck, Wayoh reservoir. Refreshments at the Cheetham Arms at end of the walk if desired.


18th January

Hills, Hollows and Hamlets – 7 miles
Meet and park at the top car park at the junction of Factory Lane and the A6 Preston Rd, Whittle le Woods, PR6 7PS. G. Ref. 579216.
Walk – Croston Farm, Heapy, Whittle le Woods.


25th January

Bricks, Stones and Clay Pipes – 6.5 miles
Meet and park at the Dog Inn Belthorn BB1 2NN. G. Ref: 717247.
Walk – New Waterside, Hoddlesden, Shorrocks Fold, return.

Where?? Who Knows… (10am start) – 10-12 miles
Please note: This walk starts at 10.00a.m. Bring walking pole in case of need.
