Please note, number 1 walks start at 10.00am. All other walks start at 10.30am unless otherwise stated.

7th May

(1) Chorley Circular – 11 miles
Meeting place Hallgate Car Park, off Chancery Road, Chorley. PR7 1XA  (SD 574 185).
Walk – Full Circuit of Chorley. Town Centre, Leeds/Liverpool Canal, Duxbury Park, Yarrow Valley Park and return.

(2) A Wonder from Wycoller – 8.5 miles
Cars to: Wycoller Car Park. Follow A6068 Keithley Road through Colne then turn right onto B6250 road to Trawden, at Cotton Tree turn left onto Lane Top and follow road to Wycoller, Car Park is on the right before you reach the village
(small charge). BB8 8SY. GR SD 927 395.
Walk – Wycoller village, Trawden and the forest of Trawden.

(3) Rabbit Rocks – 7.3 miles
Meet & park on Trencherfield Mill carpark, Heritage Way, Wigan, WN3 4BF. Turn left after Dominoes and car park on right. Pay & Display £1 for all day.
Walk – Leeds Liverpool canal, Whelley loop, Amberswood common and return.

(4) A Round Horwich – 5 miles
Meet & park at the bottom of Georges Lane, BL6 6PP, Horwich.
A walk in the area.

(5) Yarrow Reservoir walk – 3 miles
Park on Horrobin Lane, near The Rivington (was The Bowling Green). GR SD 624 143. Postcode BL6 7SE.
A walk on the West side of Yarrow Reservoir, The Street, with optional lunch at the Rivington (Bowling Green) café.

(2) Appleby Circular – 8.75 miles
Walk – Lime Lane, Brampton, Dufton Ghyll Wood, Castle Hill, Flakebridge Wood and return.

(3/4) A Primrose by the River – 6.5 miles
Walk – Appleby, Looking flat, Hoff Beck, Tile Kiln ponds, Great Ormside and River Eden.


21st May

(1) A Circumambulation of Barlick – 11 miles
Meeting place Letcliffe Country Park C.P, Letcliffe Hill, Barnoldswick. BB18 5HE (SD 879 459).
Walk – The route is by way of Cockshott Bridge, Thornton in Craven, Leeds & Liverpool Canal, Gilbeber Hill, Bracewell, Coal Pit Lane, Weets Hill.

(2) Walk Around Lytham – 9 miles
Cars to Scanner Bank car park (Fairhaven Lake). Charge £4.50 all day, some free parking on the road. Nearest Postcode, FY8 1BD, GR SD 345 273,
Walk – Fairhaven Lake, Dunes to St Annes, Ansdell, Witch Wood, Lytham Hall Park, Lowther Gardens, Promenade and return.

(3) Holland Fold – 7 miles
Meet on car park at Rivington Primary school, BL6 7SE.
Walk – Yarrow reservoir, Holland Fold, Limbrick, Leeds Liverpool canal and return.

(4) Egerton Circular – A scenic walk
Meet & park car park opposite Cross Guns, Egerton, BL7 9TH.
Walk – Cox Green Rd, Golf club, Last Drop, Dunscar and return.


28th May

(1) Hutton Roof and Holme – 10.5 miles
Meeting place Dalton Grag Car park LA6 1NL (SD 552 761).
Walk – Crag House, Hutton Roof, Blasterfoot Gap, Uberash Plain, Farleton Kott, Holme Park Farm, Lancaster canal, Burton in Kendal, Home Farm.

(2) Up On The Roof – The Hutton Version – 9 miles
Cars to the car park near Plain Quarry on Dalton Lane. From the South, just before entering the village of Burton in Kendal, turn right onto Dalton Lane. The car park is about 1.6 miles along this lane, the entrance to
it is on the left. Nearest postcode is LA6 1NJ, GR SD 552 761.
Walk – Hutton Roof, Slape Lane, Burton in Kendal, Coat Green and return.

(3) The Scotsman’s Stump – 7.5 miles
Meet & park near Curleys opposite The Jolly Crofters, Chorley New Rd, BL6 6RE.
Walk – Brinks row, Pike cottage, Scotsman’s stump, TV mast, Noon hill, Pigeon Tower & return. There will be climbs & possibly peat.

(4) Cutacre – 5 miles
Meet & park on the Pine Tree pub car park furthest end, BL5 1FN.
A walk to explore this new country park, lakes waterways and wild life. Pub afterwards for refreshments.
