Walks start at 12.30 unless otherwise stated.

6th July

Blackrod Scarecrows – 5 miles
Meet and park on St Katherines Drive, at side of church, postcode: BL6 5EN, from 12.00 noon. Church is doing
lunch boxes (approx. £5, sandwich, cake and drink) Eat in or out.
Walk starts 12.30 incorporating some scarecrows, walk, and end at cricket club for refreshments. People can then continue to see more scarecrows and events at their leisure (Programmes with map for sale).


13th July

Rocks and Water of Anglezarke – 7 miles
Meet and park at the large car park at Anglezarke. Postcode PR6 9DQ. G.Ref 621 161 (There are 2 carparks at Anglezarke, please confirm with leader if unsure).
Walk – Lester Mill Quarry, Valley below Strongsty Bank, White Coppice, Grey Heights, Kays Farm.


20th July

The Forgotten Valley – 6 miles
Meet and park at the Pack Horse pub, off Elbut Lane, Heywood, Bury BL9 7TU. G.Ref: 835 125.
Walk – This walk explores the Cheesden Valley, once a hub of Victorian history. Today tumbled walls, peaceful ponds and evocative remains recall this lively past, secreted in wooded gorges and heather moors.

Also on 20th July, A faster-paced walk. Approx 13-13.5 miles
4 Trigs Start time: 10:00am
Meeting Point: Park opposite Owd Betts Pub, Edenfield Road, Rochdale. Postcode: OL12 7TY. Grid Reference: 82964 16016.
Walk – Knoll Hill, Hunger Hill, Top of Leach, Cowpe Lowe and return. This walk is categorised as Moderate Difficulty, there is some short but steep ascent.


27th July

Scenic Sawley – 6.5 miles
Meet and park on road outside Sawley Abbey. GR: 776 465. Postcode: BB7 4NH.
Walk – Skirden Beck and Bridge, Bolton by Bowland, Hungrill, Holden, Laithe, Rodhill Gate.
