3rd August
(1) To the Lighthouse! – 11 miles
Start point Conder Green Farm SD 457 562 (LA2 0AN). There are toilets just to north of the farm on the old/unused railway line.
Walk – Parkside Farm, Lancaster Canal, Ellel Grange, Cockerham, Cocker Bridge, Bank Houses and Glasson.
(2) Stainforth to Gigglewick Scar and Feizor – 8 miles
Cars to Stainforth public car park off the B6479, BD24 9QD. Charge, approx £5.00. GR SD 82056 67264.
Walk – Stainforth Force, Kinsey Cave, School boy’s Tower, Feizor and return skirting Smearsett Scar.
(3) Anglezarke – 4 Reservoirs – 7 miles
Meet and park at Anglezarke car par – nearest postcode PR6 9DQ. Bear left off Moor Road, double gates, bear right up hill, 1 st car park at top.
Walk – Anglezarke, Rivington, Yarrow and High Bullough Reservoirs, Rivington Village, Deanwood Forest, 17th Century Lead Mines, Waterwheel Pit. Moderate Walk with 1 steep hill and other gradients.
(4) Healey Nab – 5/6 miles
Meet at the White Coppice cricket pitch, PR6 9DE.
Walk – Heapey Reservoirs, Healey Nab, Waterman’s Cottage.
10th August
(1) A Pendle Wander – 11 miles
Cars to Barley car park, BB12 9JX. Grid Ref SD 823 403.
Walk – Newchurch in Pendle, Fell Wood, Ogden Clough, Pendle Hill, Windy Harbour Farm, Lower Black Moss Reservoir, Barley.
(2) Arnside – 10 miles
Cars to the Promenade at Arnside, LA5 0AA. GR SD 455 787
Walk – New Barns, Park Point, Silverdale, Arnside Tower, Arnside Knott.
Note: there is a short climb over rocks at Woodwell cliffs.
(3) Moses Gate – 7.5 miles
Meet at Moses Gate car park, Hall Lane, Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 7QN. GR SD 743 968.
Walk – Moses Gate, Nob End SSI, MBB Canal, Outwood Country Park Trail, MBB Canal, Moses Gate. No stiles.
(4) An Eagley Round – 5/6 miles
Park and meet at Cineworld, The Valley, Eagley, BL1 8TS.
A walk in the environs and back.
17th August
Walkers from all Wednesday groups will meet up at 10.30am at Woodland Trust Car Park, BL1 7PT. SD 676 124, Walker Fold Road, to witness the unveiling of two new
plaques, which will be attached to one of the tables near the start of Walker Fold Wood. Walkers will then divide into their individual walking groups.
(1) Walker Fold Wood, Smithills Moor, Winter Hill, Belmont Road (which is a track, not a road), Rivington Pike, Wilders Moor, Pike Cottage and Burnt Edge – 9 miles.
(2) Walker Fold Wood, Sheep Cote Green, Coal Pitt Road, Winter Hill, Pigeon Tower, Adam Hill and return – 8.5 miles.
(3) A walk in the local area – 7 miles.
(4) A shorter walk in the area 5/6 miles.

(1) Hebden Round – 12 miles
Park on road first right after Clarendon Hotel signposted to Burnsall, LA14 3JT. SD 026 631.
Walk – Hebden Beck, Dukes New Road, Chimney, Bycliffe Hill, Bycliffe Road, Dales Way, Grassington, High Lane, Hebden.
(2) Whittle Tunnels – 8 miles
Cars to Malthouse farm Pub car park at Whittle-Le-Woods. Park on the upper tier of the car park. Take junction 8 off the M61 on the A674 Blackburn Road and turn left onto the B6229. Pub on the left. PR6 8AB. GR SD 591 293.
Walk – Walton Summit, Denham Quarry and Canal.
(3) Healy Nab – 7.5 miles
Meet at Knowsley Lane, between upper Rivington & Anglezarke, GD 620156.
Walk – Back Lane, Healey Nab, White Coppice, The Goit and return.
(4) Wallsuches – 6 miles
Meet on Georges Lane, opposite the Jolly Crofters. Please park away from the snack van. GD 659 114.
Walk via Wallsuches, Tiger Clough or The Pike Snack Shack and Rivington Lower Barn.
(5) Entwistle Walk – 3 miles
Cars to Entwistle top car park.
A stroll round the reservoir, followed by lunch in the Strawberry Duck

(1) Searching for Freddy – 12.5 miles

Walk – Blackrod, Wigan links, Leeds Liverpool Canal, Limbrick, Anglezarke.
(2) Historic Westhoughton – 8 miles
Cars to Lower CP off Cricketer’s Way, down side of Chinese Restaurant, not opposite shops. Turn at traffic lights at Sainsbury’s, BL5 3AJ. GR SD 653 057.
Walk – Westhoughton, Dobb Brow, Borsdane Wood, Top Lock, Borsdane Wood, Golf Club and return.
(3) Wilton Estate Walk – 7 miles
Meet at St. Margaret’s Road entrance to Heaton Park (charge £3), M25 2GT. GR SD 824047.
Walk – Rhodes Wood, Alkrington Hall, Blackley Forest, Hidden Gem Café and Gardens.
(4) High Quality Tockholes – 5 miles
Meet at Tockholes Information Centre. BB3 0PA.
